Soon, the entire length of Old Cutler Road in Coral Gables will be resurfaced. Miami-Dade County has completed the repaving of Old Cutler Road from Red Road to Kendall Drive. Contractors are now mobilizing to begin work on the area from Kendall Drive to Cartagena Plaza.
The original scope of the project only included the area that has been completed so far. During one of his routine drives through the City to monitor current projects and explore opportunities for improvement, City Manager Pat Salerno noticed the construction project and had staff ask the County to extend the resurfacing project an extra 1.25 miles to Cartagena Plaza, completing the restoration of the historic roadway. The County agreed and work is expected to begin within a week, weather permitting.
